Gifts for Plannernerds & Journalers

For the bullet journaler, notetaker, writer, or doodler, check out the Scribbles That Matter A5 size notebook or Leuchtturm1917 Copper kit (includes the A5 size book with a matching pen loop and a pen!). Both come with luxurious, thick paper and are perfect whether their style is whimsical or glam! What if they’re a minimalist or prefer something smaller? Gifts for Artists and Creatives

There are many painting mediums but the easiest and most popular to use are watercolors and gouache. Both mediums use water but the former is more transparent and buildable while the latter is more opaque and can be layered.  Two amazing brands that are great quality and value for the price, are the Kuratake 36 color watercolor set which includes a large assortment of colors (including metallics) and the Sennelier L’Aquarelle 12-pan watercolor palette which is a wonderful portable option.

For an even more portable option, check out the Akashiya Sai Watercolor brush pen set —a joy to use and blends beautifully with a brush! While on the subject of ‘painting’, how about some great quality but affordable brushes? Ah yes—pens! One of my ‘glam’ favorites is the Swarovski Crystalline Stardust/Gold Pen which is absolutely stunning to look at and a joy to use. For something more sleek, multi-functional, and high-tech, check out the Cross Tech3+ Multifunction pen which twists to reveal a black and red ballpoint pen, pencil with a hidden eraser, and includes a stylus!
    

As for fountain pens—you know I had to include these 😉 —I’m still loving my Lamy LX Rose Gold and Pilot Vanishing Point Red/Gold Fountain pens, both with an extra-fine nib. They are beautiful ‘workhorses’ making them the perfect ‘every day carry’.
       

 

 

Gifts for Techies

Yes, I love my techie toys, and this year I’m sharing some of my and my family’s tried-and-true favorites. First up, is the NUBWO Portable Bluetooth Speakers with Mic in Rose Gold — it comes in other colors but I got the rose gold to match my rose gold iPhone 7+ and rose gold Apple watch. 😀 This is a wonderful little speaker with great sound and looks good anywhere—home or office. Also great for home or office, is the iClever Portable Folding Bluetooth Keyboard (check out my review here). I use it with my iPhone and iPad for the perfect ‘laptop replacement’ on-the-go!
  

For the creative techies, check out the Wacom Intuos Art Pen and Touch Tablet which is perfect for creating digital graphics. Both my son and daughter have Wacom tablets—he’s studying to become a professional illustrator and she just loves to draw—and they both love it! It connects to a computer via USB, comes with replacement tips, and once you register the device, you can download software to get you started so you’re good to go out-of-the-box! Another great creative-techie option is the BUBM Double layer tech organizer. This is perfect for carrying tech accessories like cables, external harddrives, portable keyboards, etc. but my favorit way to use this case is to carry my watercolor supplies–yes, my watercolor supplies! In the front compartment, I keep my pens (Micron markers, Gelly Rolls, Uni Ball Signo Gel pen, fountain pen), pencils (Kuru Toga mechanical and Derwent water soluble), and travel brushes (Escoda, DaVinci) and in the back compartment, I keep my Stillman & Birn Beta Series watercolor book, two geocache tubes of water, a wipe-off cloth, mini spray bottle, color chart, and 48 pan watercolor palette full of various brands of watercolor 1/2 pans.
