The Jibun Techo. You’ve heard me talk and post about it quite a bit throughout 2017. The great news is it’s been growing in popularity in the planner community and has become more accessible outside of Japan so there’s more information about it available. This week I’m sharing my top 10 tips for setting up my Jibun Techo for functional planning—it’s more flexible than you think! 🙂

Planner Musings – How to Choose a Planner for Next Year in 3 Steps

Can you believe it’s October and 2018 is almost here? September was a blur for me due to fiscal-year-end work and a family emergency. With all that behind me now (all is well!), I’m back to pondering—along with the rest of my fellow plannernerds—the biggest decision of the year: what planner will I use for next year? Some folks only need one planner to take care of everything while others need multiple planners which further complicates the process. This week I’m sharing my year-end ‘planner musings’—aka my 3-step thought process—for deciding what planner to use each year.

Summer Planning versus Regular Planning Routines

Summer’s finally over, it’s Fall on the east coast, and many of us are waking from our planner ‘slumber’. I recently took some time off from blogging to enjoy the last days of summer with my family and now, it’s time to get back to business—did you miss me? 😉 The kids are back in school, extracurricular activities will be starting soon, and work has started to ‘pick up steam’ which means getting back to my regular planning routines . For many, planning in the summer is very different than planning throughout the rest of the year and rightfully so—you should be having fun! This week I share my tips and tricks as well as process for ‘switching gears’ and transitioning from my summer planning routine to my regular planning routines.

2017 Mid-Year Planner Lineup – Blog/Content Planner Update

Welcome back, everyone, for the last installment of my 2017 Mid-Year Planner lineup update! Previously, I shared updates on my work bullet journal, on-the-go Hobonichi Weeks planner, and primary Jibun Techo planner. I included what changes—if any—I had made to my setups as well as whether the planner and it’s intended purpose was still a ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ for me plus any lessons learned. This week I’m sharing an update on my blog/content planner which I completely revamped and setup using new planner products for 2017. So, is it still working or was it a complete fail?

2017 Mid-Year Planner Lineup – Primary Planner Update

It’s July and I’m back to share another update on my 2017 planner lineup! Like last year, I started 2017 with multiple planners—one for work, blog/YouTube content, personal/family, and on-the-go. By mid-year (sometimes sooner!), many plannernerds have either significantly tweaked or abandoned their planning systems to try something new while others continue to press on with the planner they started with. Regardless of your situation, mid-year is the perfect time to do a ‘reality check’ to see what’s working, what’s not working, and make any adjustments going forward. This week we’ll take a look at my primary planner which is my main ‘life’ planner for managing personal, family, home, finances, fitness, and projects. As the ‘central hub’ of my planning system, it’s critical that THIS particular planner works and works well so is my 2017 primary planner still effective? Why or why not?

2017 Mid-Year Planner Lineup – Work Planner Update

At the start of 2017, I shared my planner lineup for work, blog/YouTube content, personal/family, and on-the-go. Like many plannernerds, I use multiple planners so the process of choosing a planner every year for each life area can be daunting. Mid-year is the perfect time to do a ‘reality check’ to see what’s working, what’s not working, and make any adjustments to your planner setup going forward. In this first installment of this blogpost series, I’m going to share an update on my work planner—is it still working and what, if any, changes have I made?

Jibun Techo – Functional Plan With Me

Welcome back everyone! This week I’m sharing a functional plan with me using the ‘newest kid on the block’—the Jibun Techo Mini aka B6 ‘Slim’. If you’re a Japanese planner enthusiast (Hobonichi anyone?), you’re going to LOVE the Jibun Techo! Every January, I share all the planners I’ll be using for that year but this year I didn’t write a blogpost about my choice for a primary planner. That’s because I was struggling with what I had chosen and it wasn’t until I found the Jibun Techo that I finally found a planner that worked for me and my method of planning. So why is it so wonderful? Let me count the ways… 🙂

Functional Planning with Multiple Planners

In the planner community, there two types of plannernerds: those that use one planner, and those that use multiple planners. It’s a friendly debate that strives to keep us focused on productivity without getting distracted by all the wonderful things we love: organizer covers, notebooks, papers, and pens! 🙂 With all the beautifully crafted products on the market, some may think plannernerds use multiple planners simply to find an excuse to use everything in their growing collections. However, I’ve come to learn over the last few years that there are circumstances that might warrant using an additional planner—or two, or three!–to help me plan more effectively. So what are some functional uses for multiple planners?
