2017 Planners – Blog (Content) Planner Setup

Happy New Years everyone! Plannernerds everywhere are in a state of euphoria now that they’re finally able to use their brand new 2017 planners. 🙂 Some chose one planner for 2017 while many others—like me—chose multiple planners, each dedicated to managing a different area of their life. Blog Planner Choice for Next Year – Part 2

Welcome back for part 2 of my ‘Planner Setups for the New Year’ blogpost series (check out Part 1 here). As a blogger (and YouTuber) there’s a lot that goes into planning and generating what I strive to be quality content for my readers. As a result, I use a different, more creative planning style than I use for work or my personal life so I have found it best to designate a separate planner for this life area. This year I was thrilled to find a new product on the market that I think will be perfect as a blog/YouTube planner. I posted a sneak peak on my Instagram last week and many were surprised by my choice—nothing wrong with shaking things up! So what have I chosen as my Blog/YouTube planner for next year?

Planner Pages – Sunday or Monday Start?

Depending on where you live, calendar and planner pages will typically be formatted with either a Sunday or Monday start for the week. Living in North America, Sunday usually marks the beginning of a week on most printed calendars. Imagine my surprise when I ordered my first planner with a Monday start—what a culture shock and totally genius! So is a Monday start better for planning than a Sunday start? The answer may shock you. 😉

Monthly Index Logs

With all the planner and page inserts available today, it’s getting more and more difficult to avoid the temptation of something new and change your setup midway–or several times!–throughout the year. I’ve fallen victim to this many times in the last couple years so I had to come up with a way to maintain something constant thru all the changes in order to avoid losing valuable information. This ‘constant’ is my one critical tool for storing vital information captured throughout the year: a monthly index.
